According to a survey carried out by the CEOE and ICEX, 17% of Spanish companies encounter some kind of problem when exporting their products to other member states of the European Union.
The CEOE found that Spanish companies face the following problems when they export their products within the EU:

  • Breaching of some of the European Community market rules.
  • Requirements which disadvantage the company among national operators.
  • Other difficulties added to those which already exist in the Spanish market.

A lack of homogeneity in regulations, obliges companies to comply with different rules depending on the destination of the cargo: a situation which is encountered in 70% of exports.

The countries which pose the greatest difficulties to Spanish companies are France and Germany.
